Game 1 of the 2011 NBA Finals began last night in what is a rematch of the controversial 2006 Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat. Jordan Brand athlete , who is playing in his first NBA Finals as the Heat point guard, debuted the Quickfuse White/Varsity Red in the Heat’s Game 1 victory. This colorway of the 2011 Quickfuse is similar to the White/Royal colorway with Varsity Red in place of the Royal Blue. The was a revival of sorts for the Jordan signature line in the eyes of Jordan fans, but now the 2011 has taken a cue from Optimus Prime and transformed into another form. The AJ 2011 makes use of Hyperfuse technology, much like Nike’s LeBron 8 PS, for a lighter performance-based shoe. Visually, the shoe resembles the Air Jordan XVI from the lateral and features patent leather on the forefoot – another signature detail of the XVI, and the use of photo blue on the midsole and heel provides a vibrancy that was lacking on previous colorways of the AJ 2011 Quick Fuse.
