It may not be 55 points on the Knicks on national TV but Michael Jordan can still dominate a basketball court. The Chicago Bulls legend was caught balling on camera today in the Bahamas, dropping one of his patented jumpers in a pickup basketball game with none other than New England Patriots champion Tom Brady and PGA Tour star Keegan Bradley. He even calls “And 1″ as the shot drains.

Vintage Gear: (Starring) Bugs Bunny In “Hare Jordan” T-Shirt

March 28th, 2015 By

Today’s Vintage Gear here on Jordans Daily takes a look at another of the many Nike Hare Jordan t-shirts from 1992. This one plays on the commercialization of the Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny partnership, headlining Bugs as the alter ego Hare Jordan, with Air Jordan starring alongside. Again, this tee is a great example of why that first Hare Jordan commercial was so clutch. It set up the entire Bugs-Jordan campaign, with memorable pop culture-ready one-liners the public not only wanted to repeat but also wear on lighthearted apparel. Genius.

Get Up Close To The Air Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboard”

March 28th, 2015 By

air-jordan-1-shattered-backboard-00

We’re back with another round of photos of the Air Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboard” today. This is tribute shoe of sorts to Michael Jordan’s backboard breaking in 1986 while taking part in an exhibition game overseas. To remember the moment, Jordan Brand is bringing back the black and orange he wore that game in Jordan 1 form, his lone signature shoe at the time. The look mimics the famous “Black Toe” layout, except that orange fills in on the toe box where white would otherwise be. While a summer 2015 release is expected, we’ll update with concrete release info as it becomes available. What are your thoughts on Jordan Brand’s latest inspiration-based Air Jordan 1 colorway? Leave them in the comment section. Want additional photos? Click here.

If you’re a Michael Jordan fan, or exhibit even a cursory interest in sports, you remember many of his legendary scoring binges – the 63-point show against the ’86 Celtics, hanging a career-high 69 on the Cavs in ’90 (25 years ago today), an effortless 64 on rookie Shaq and the Magic in ’93. But Jordan’s 55 points against the New York Knicks on March 28, 1995 stands out among the top handful of his defining moments.

Metta World Peace is in Italy and he’s going to wear some Air Jordans. But which ones? The “Panda’s Friend,” who has had stints in sneaker brands PEAK, BALL’N and his self-sourced stuffed panda kicks in recent years, says he hasn’t worn a pair of Air Jordans for the better part of 10 years. From his Instagram video, it looks like World Peace’s Jordan options for the time being are Air Jordan 5 “Laney” and White/Black-Fire Red, and Air Jordan 10 “Venom Green.”

With sneakers like the Air Jordan 10 “Verde” (March 28th) and Air Jordan 1 “Lola Bunny” (April 4), ladies are cleaning up in the exclusives department. And they can look forward to another as the Air Jordan 11 Low “Citrus” is on the way for summer 2015. This one is a real throwback retro, a nod to the first time this colorway released in April 2001 when it also was a ladies-only drop. Classic summer style, with a whiteout upper matched only to bright orange on the tagging and translucent outsole.

This Air Jordan 1 Reminds Us Michael Jordan Once Shattered A Backboard

March 27th, 2015 By

We’re used to Air Jordans inspired by Michael Jordan‘s time with the Chicago Bulls and University of North Carolina, even by features like his 1996 movie Space Jam. But a colorway based off the outfit he wore while breaking a backboard nearly 30 years ago? New territory.

Air Jordan 10 Goes To Public School For Latest Collaboration

March 27th, 2015 By

The Air Jordan 10 is one of the quieter Jordan signature shoes in that it released in late 1994 with little fanfare, and was getting fitted to be a sneaker history footnote until Michael Jordan’s spring 1995 comeback pulled it out of impending obscurity. That rags-to-riches narrative is a big reason why the just-revealed Public School x Air Jordan 10 feels like more of an event than just another collaboration.
