Michael Jordan Shrugged Off Portland Trailblazers 22 Years Ago

One of the most memorable moments of Michael Jordan’s NBA Finals career came in his second straight trip the the game’s most coveted series against the Portland Trailblazers. While the Bulls were still seriously considered as a dominant team, nobody was calling them a dynasty after just one championship and the Blazers believed that they could contain MJ throughout the series. That proved difficult from Game 1, as Mike and the Bulls had home court advantage and number 23 scored an incredible 35 points at the half, scoring six first half threes. After the sixth one came the shrug as even Michael was in disbelief at his performance. The Bulls would go on to win in a blowout, 122-89. Get with us after the click for the full highlight of Jordan’s famous shrug as he got back on defense.

Mitchell & Ness Releases Michael Jordan “The Shot” Throwback Jersey

May 8th, 2014 By

Mitchell & Ness Releases Michael Jordan The Shot Throwback Jersey

Earlier in the year, Mitchell & Ness announced that it planned to release a limited edition run of four different Michael Jordan throwback jerseys. February brought us the 1989 NBA All-Star game jersey (in which at the time, was celebrating its 25th year). Now, a day after the the 25th anniversary of Michael Jordan’s famous buzzer-beater over Craig Ehlo and the rest of the Cavaliers known simply as “The Shot”, the Philadelpha-based nostalgia company has released a short supply of a copy as close to the original as possible that Mike wore on the hardwood that fateful day in Cleveland. And even though Mike’s squad wouldn’t go on to win an NBA championship until two years later, this classic jersey is definitely worth a second look. Featuring a red away aesthetic, the back ‘Jordan’ name is stitched in all white (in contrast to the later versions that would match the rest of the lettering in black outlined in white). Hit the click for a better look and grab yours today via the NBA Store.

Today is the 25th Anniversary of Michael Jordan’s Shot over Ehlo

May 7th, 2014 By

Today is the 25th Anniversary of Michael Jordans Shot over Ehlo

Today isn’t necessarily the best of days if you’re Craig Ehlo. In fact, any time highlight footage replays of Michael Jordan’s first ever playoff buzzer beater (in which it looks like an Air Jordan IV “Bred” is almost kicking Ehlo in the head in celebration post shot) has to instill nausea in the former Cavalier guard’s stomach. Today is the 25th anniversary of Mike’s incredible shot that put the Cavs away in 5 games. On this day 25 years ago, the Bulls were down to a hungry Cleveland squad that looked to fight back from a 3-1 deficit to force a game 6, but Mike had other plans. The shot gave the Bulls a 101-100 victory and allowed them to move on to the Knicks, and while MJ wouldn’t win his first championship until 2 years later, the highlight serves as a reminder of the close games and struggle on the way to becoming the best player to ever lace a pair up. Michael and Marcus Jordan Showcase Air Jordans During Game 4

The Charlotte Bobcats will go down as the only franchise in NBA history without a single playoff win since they’re changing their name to the Hornets next season. Although that can be blamed on Al Jefferson going down with an injury, there were a few bright spots for the franchise over this past season and courtside during the Game 4 loss. Mike and son Marcus sat as close to the action as they could both showcasing new pairs of Air Jordans. While Macus opted for the Infrared variety of the Jordan Future, Michael may have given us a preview of a new Air Jordan 1 style headed to us sometime in the future.
