Michael Jordan: The Life by Roland Lazenby Available Now

Michael Jordan is one of if not the most polarizing sports figures of all time. He casts a large shadow by what he did both on and off the court and to this day remains enigmatic enough to stay in the spotlight even though he’s no longer playing the game that made him famous. From the legend of his competitive drive on the court to his business endeavors, he changed the way the game was played and the way athletes approach business once off the hardwood. Author Roland Lazenby recently chronicled His Airness in a brand new book entitled Michael Jordan: The Life. At 720 pages long, the book hails itself as the definitive biography of the legendary athlete with untold stories ranging from Mike growing up with racial problems in North Carolina to his isolation after the death of his father. Mitchell & Ness Releases Michael Jordan “The Shot” Throwback Jersey

May 8th, 2014 By

Mitchell & Ness Releases Michael Jordan The Shot Throwback Jersey

Earlier in the year, Mitchell & Ness announced that it planned to release a limited edition run of four different Michael Jordan throwback jerseys. February brought us the 1989 NBA All-Star game jersey (in which at the time, was celebrating its 25th year). Now, a day after the the 25th anniversary of Michael Jordan’s famous buzzer-beater over Craig Ehlo and the rest of the Cavaliers known simply as “The Shot”, the Philadelpha-based nostalgia company has released a short supply of a copy as close to the original as possible that Mike wore on the hardwood that fateful day in Cleveland. And even though Mike’s squad wouldn’t go on to win an NBA championship until two years later, this classic jersey is definitely worth a second look. Featuring a red away aesthetic, the back ‘Jordan’ name is stitched in all white (in contrast to the later versions that would match the rest of the lettering in black outlined in white). Hit the click for a better look and grab yours today via the NBA Store.

Today is the 25th Anniversary of Michael Jordan’s Shot over Ehlo

May 7th, 2014 By

Today is the 25th Anniversary of Michael Jordans Shot over Ehlo

Today isn’t necessarily the best of days if you’re Craig Ehlo. In fact, any time highlight footage replays of Michael Jordan’s first ever playoff buzzer beater (in which it looks like an Air Jordan IV “Bred” is almost kicking Ehlo in the head in celebration post shot) has to instill nausea in the former Cavalier guard’s stomach. Today is the 25th anniversary of Mike’s incredible shot that put the Cavs away in 5 games. On this day 25 years ago, the Bulls were down to a hungry Cleveland squad that looked to fight back from a 3-1 deficit to force a game 6, but Mike had other plans. The shot gave the Bulls a 101-100 victory and allowed them to move on to the Knicks, and while MJ wouldn’t win his first championship until 2 years later, the highlight serves as a reminder of the close games and struggle on the way to becoming the best player to ever lace a pair up. Michael and Marcus Jordan Showcase Air Jordans During Game 4

The Charlotte Bobcats will go down as the only franchise in NBA history without a single playoff win since they’re changing their name to the Hornets next season. Although that can be blamed on Al Jefferson going down with an injury, there were a few bright spots for the franchise over this past season and courtside during the Game 4 loss. Mike and son Marcus sat as close to the action as they could both showcasing new pairs of Air Jordans. While Macus opted for the Infrared variety of the Jordan Future, Michael may have given us a preview of a new Air Jordan 1 style headed to us sometime in the future. Macklemore Designs Jordan Melo M10 Northwest King Salmon

In honor of Macklemore’s guest appearance at the Jordan Brand Classic this past weekend, the Jumpman let him design his own pair of the Jordan Melo M10. Being from Seattle, the Grammy-Award winning rapper found a way to reference his hometown without going for a Seahawks color but instead opted for something just as vibrant and a little more obscure in this “Northwest King Salmon” colorway. The look surely stands out with an all pink color to honor the fish indigenous to the region. What do you think of Macklemore’s latest creation? Tony Wroten Misquoted Over Jordan Apology

It appears that neither Tony Wroten nor his agent ever received a call from Michael Jordan over the mishap of his Air Jordan 10 and its broken sole during a game against the Indiana Pacers. Initially reported by The Delaware News Journal, they quoted Wroten as saying that he had received an apology call from the head honcho of the Jumpman himself last week after the Air Jordan 10 Retro broke down on court. “He called my agent,” the paper quoted Wroten. Subsequent media outlets reported on the story, including us, but now Wroten’s agent Greg Lawrence told ESPN.com about the misquote. “Tony told me that the media asked him if he thought Jordan would apologize and he answered, ‘He can call my agent.” Do you think Tony still deserves that apology? Michael Jordan Apologized After Tony Wrotens Air Jordan 10 Tore Apart

Things aren’t going so well for the Philadelphia 76ers this season. Currently in the midst of a historically awful 22 game losing streak, the tanking Sixers don’t have much to look forward to besides the end of this season and the upcoming NBA Draft. To make matters worse, in a game against the top-seeded Indiana Pacers, guard Tony Wroten’s Air Jordan 10 fell apart on court. If that doesn’t personify the Sixers season, where they can’t even keep their shoes from falling apart, then we don’t know what does. Luckily, Michael Jordan got on the phone and called Wroten’s agent to personally apologize. The guard has been known to wear Air Jordan retros on court throughout the entire season, so will this change what he decides to wear? Hit the click to see the video of the sneaker fail in action and stick with Jordans Daily for all your Air Jordan news.
