It looks like Jordan Brand is bringing in an old friend to help out with an upcoming design on the Jordan Melo M9. Carmelo Anthony himself recently sat down with street artist Dave White during his trip to London to chop it up regarding a collaboration on his newest signature sneaker. This press photo of Melo sitting down for high tea is the only shot to emerge thus far, but best believe that we’ll have you covered then the Dave White x Jordan Melo M9 is unveiled.

Jordan Brand is back with the latest episode in the Playing for the City that Made Me series, a three-part documentary that chronicles Carmelo Anthony’s transition from small market to big market as he made his way back home to play for the Knicks in New York City. This episode touches on Melo’s transformation both on and off the court and his adjustment to the bright lights and the big city. Hit the jump for the video and stay tuned for the final episode.

The Jordan Melo M9 has been on retail shelves for a little bit now, but the sneaker hit NYC in full force last night at Cipriani Club 55 just off Wall Street. The space played host to 1,500 local kids who were able to trial the latest Carmelo Anthony signature shoe, check out the ‘Playing for the City That Made Me’ documentary series, and watch a Q&A session between Melo and Bernard King hosted by Sway and a subsequent concert from local spitters French Montana and Fabolous. Jordan Brand is paying special attention to Carmelo Anthony this week thanks to the launch of his all new signature shoe the Jordan Melo M9. Their campaign centers around Melo’s birthplace and once again home of NYC and the importance of his early days out in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The video features guest spots from important New York figures like Nas and Bernard King and even takes viewers back the the court that Anthony first balled on. The All-Star game of the high school circuit the Jordan Brand Classic has just announced that it will be heading out to Brooklyn for the 2013 game. The Barlcays Center will be playing host to the event this year, which will go down on April 13th, 2013. As per usual we can likely except some sick PE’s of the newest Air Jordan player shoe (which will be the Air Jordan XX8 at that point) to pop up on the court. It looks like a pretty serious collaboration from Jordan Brand is in the works, the team pulling in Staple Design (that would be the same group who put out the legendary Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Pigeon’). The details are pretty slim at this point, but it appears that the Air Jordan XI will play a part to some extent, its roman numerals and original release run appearing at the top of the tag. Jordan brand has something special waiting in the wings. The proof comes in the form of this cryptic package, recently delivered to the team over at Sneaker News. The set-up includes a poster featuring the message “Dare to Fly” in a covert, black-light activated print, along with a graphic of a winged beast and the date of Monday, December 3rd.
