Air Jordan V T23: Tokyo 23 Edition

In addition the official announcement of the Jordan CP3.IV T23, an T23 edition has also been announced officially with the launch of the Jordan Tokyo 23 website. This special edition Air Jordan V which features a nearly all yellow body should remind most Jordan fans of the Air Jordan IV Lightning from a few years back. But this AJV actually goes with the overall theme of the tournament scheduled May 28 and May 29 in Yoyogi Park. Unfortunately worldwide Jordan fans will probably have to pick up a pair on eBay as both the CP3.IV T23 and the Air Jordan V T23 are currently only scheduled for Japan release.

April 20th, 1986: Michael Jordan Scores A Historical 63 Points In Playoff Game

Happy Silver Anniversary to Michael Jordan’s 63-point performance against the Boston Celtics during the ’86 Playoffs. MJ dropped 49 points in a magnificent Game 1 performance, and followed that up with an encore presentation of 63 big ones against a team that wanted nothing to do with the second-year player on defense. The Celtics still won that game and eventually knocked the Bulls out of contention, but the world stood still to witness a rising superstar that Larry Bird compared to God. Just two years ago, Jordan Brand honored MJ’s 63-point milestone by releasing the ’60+’, which featured two pairs of the in the original Black/Red colorway as well as a Celtics inspired Green/White/Black version. via ChicagoTribune / Turner.

Michael Jordan Teammate Scottie Pippen Honored With Statue At United Center

, the long-time wingman of Michael Jordan and fellow six-time NBA champion, was honored with a bronze statue that featured a painted jersey, armband, and hair. The unveiling of the statue occurred during halftime of Chicago’s match-up against the Boston Celtics on April 7th, and will continue to be on display at the United Center for all of the stadium’s events. Pippen’s departure from Chicago wasn’t particularly friendly, as he had a rocky relationship with then Bulls GM Jerry Krause, but his return to Chicago was a welcome one as he was named by now-GM John Paxson as ‘team ambassador’. Pippen’s doing something right, because the Bulls are currently atop the Eastern Conference and look to add a seventh Championship banner this June. via Yahoo!.
