Air Jordan 11 set a precedent for sneaker style when it debuted on Michael Jordan’s feet in the 1995 NBA Playoffs. Patent leather combined with bright white Cordura fabric to quickly breach formal fashion, as a Google Images search of the shoe’s cameos in wedding and prom photos can attest.

Air Jordan 11 “Heiress” might set a new tone in that department, sporting luxe nubuck and velvet where the shiny patent used to be. If the materials don’t fully convey the upscale message, the gold stitching and relief style Jumpman logos should do the trick.
