Vintage Gear: Michael Jordan “Return Flight” Wilson Basketball Poster – 1995

Our Vintage Gear for today remembers Michael Jordan‘s 1995 comeback through the eyes of Wilson, the sporting goods company with whom MJ enjoyed an endorsement contract throughout the ’90s. This particular poster shows Jordan – wearing Air Jordan 7 Cardinals years prior – in a sunlit gym that casts an almost ominous, movie poster mood. (Where are the cast names and the tagline?) But you can’t really fault Wilson here. They, like every other company remotely associated with Jordan at the time, must’ve been overjoyed with MJ’s return in March 1995. The greatest basketball player ever coming back and he can pitch our products with the whole world watching? Yes, thanks.
