Kendall Gill knows something about Air Jordan sneakers. The man was ushered into the post-Jordan era of Jordan Brand and was one of the first players to be delegated a player exclusive thanks to the thought process behind the Air Jordan 10. Mike would end up returning to the league to play against players wearing his own sneakers which definitely caused some awkward scenarios here and there. While announcing an NBA Summer League game, Gill told a story about his then New Jersey Nets teammate Jimmy Jackson’s altercation with His Airness. While Jackson was beating up Mike in a particular game, he decided to start trash talking, (or “talk mess to Superman” as Kendall put it) but MJ had the perfect response: “you know, you’re talking a lot of stuff to have my shoes on.” While we don’t know the exact sneaker Jackson laced up, his former teammate would say that it was a model under the Jumpman Team category and not a signature.
