After taking this past NBA season off in lieu of giving the Air Jordan XX8 a hyperfuse follow up with the Air Jordan 28 SE, the anticipation only built up for Tinker Hatfield’s next design in the Air Jordan signature lineage, and today that first look finally came. Jordan Brand held an invite-only launch in New York City for the Air Jordan XX9 with a bevy of special VIPs including Michael Jordan and Mark Smith. Set to release this September for a retail price of $225, the sneaker features the first ever performance based woven upper that will likely lead to even more unique prints than the Air Jordan 28, while a redesigned Flight Plate adds even more innovation. Continue onward to get a better look at all of the Air Jordan XX9 festivities that went down at the official launch today and let us know if you’re excited about what you’ve seen from the 29th signature sneaker in the comments section.
